The record-setting Latino rock band Mana received the 2,573rd star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Wednesday, honoring a career that has brought the group four Grammys and five Latin Grammys.

Grammy-winning musician Carlos Santana joined the group’s Fher Olvera, Alex Gonzalez, Sergio Vallin and Juan Calleros in speaking in the ceremony in front of Live Nation on Hollywood Boulevard. Santana’s star is on the same block as Mana’s.

The ceremony came hours before the group performed on the ABC late-night talk show “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

Formed in Guadalajara, Mexico, in 1986, Mana has had 10 No. 1 singles and nine No. 1 albums on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart, the most for any group.

Mana won Grammys for best Latin rock/alternative performance for “Suenos Liquidos” in 1998, best Latin rock/alternative album for “Revolucion De Amor” in 2002, best Latin rock, alternative or urban album for “Amar Es Combatir” in 2006, and best Latin pop, rock or urban album for “Drama Y Luz” in 2011.

“Drama Y Luz” also brought Mana the Latin Grammy for best rock album in 2011. It won three Latin Grammys in 2000 — record of the year and best rock duo or group with vocal for “Corazon Espinado” and best pop duo or group with vocal for “Se Me Olvido Otra Vez.”

Mana also won the Latin Grammy for best rock album by a duo or group with vocal in 2003 for ‘Revolucion De Amor.”

Mana is scheduled to begin an 18-concert, 17-city tour produced by Live Nation on Sept. 9 the group has dubbed “The Latino Power Tour.” The tour includes concerts at the Forum Sept. 24-25.

“We have baptized our new tour ‘Latino Power’ because with the strength of their collective vote this year, U.S. Latinos can further empower our community, demanding more respect and affecting real change in the living conditions and opportunity for our people,” said Olvera, the group’s lead vocalist.
