Yucatan well represented on Peña Nieto’s visit to Germany

BERLIN — As part of the visit of President Enrique Peña Nieto to Berlin, Germany, the group Yucatán Childrens’ Choir performed a presentation at a popular museum.

Notably as well, the governor of Yucatan, Rolando Zapata Bello, accompanied the president on this visit to Berlin, where the art exhibition “The Mayas, the language of beauty” opened. This exhibition recently concluded at the Palacio Canton Museum in Merida.

In the Childrens’ Choir, between 12 and 14 years of age, eight members are from Merida and one Hunucmá Township in the northwest of Yucatan state.

The choir performed songs in the three languages of Mayan, English and German.

The performance was viewed by both the presidents of Mexico, Peña Nieto, and Germany, Joachim Gauck, as well as other top officials.
