MEXICO CITY — Mexico’s Interior Minister, Miguel Ángel Osorio Chong, met during the afternoon of Thursday June 23 with Roberta Jacobson, new US ambassador in Mexico.

Through his twitter account, the official in charge of the internal politics of the country wrote:

“Today I had the pleasure to welcome the US ambassador in Mexico, Roberta Jacobson.”

Osorio Chong shared photos of the meeting held at the headquarters of the agency, and commented that “Roberta Jacobson has proven to be a great friend to Mexico, I am sure that her presence will bring our countries even closer.”

This is the first meeting between the Interior Minister and the diplomati, and it’s taking place a few days after she presented her credentials to President Enrique Peña Nieto.
