Merida Mayor Mauricio Vila Dosal announced Sunday April 9, the possible repetition of the floral display “Flower Path” for next year and said that it will accompany it with new activities that will give greater exposure to this exhibition.
Although it is still premature to make a decision, Vila Dosal did not rule out that next year this display will be replicated in another park in the city, as long as it meets the necessary conditions to mount it.
Vila anticipated that the plants of the “Flower Path” that is in the park of Mejorada will be placed at the zoos of the Centennial and Bicentennial (Animaya). The ornamental structures with figures of birds, bees and hummingbirds will be part of the attraction of these recreational parks. There are 50,000 ornamental plants that form the floral mosaic that today adorns Mejorada.
The care, attention and handling of the flowers allows them to bloom gradually and not wilt, despite the high temperatures.
The floral work was carried out by Municipal Public Services staff, headed by Luis Jorge Montalvo Duarte, who accompanied the municipal president on his tour.
“For those who do not plan to leave the city during this Easter holiday, the City Council offers family entertainment options such as zoos, The Water-Park, the Eastern Recreational Center, where there are public swimming pools,” said the mayor, who on Sunday, April 9, was accompanied by his children Alejandrina and Mauricio.
It is the first time in the history of Mérida that a floral work, called “Path of flowers” is mounted. To get a better overview of this natural beauty, the City Council built a metal structure bridge and wooden floor. In addition, there are sounds of birds and electronic screens where they transmit related topics about environmental care, municipal strategies against climate change and the attractions of the ecotourism route of Xcunyá, an alternative tourism program that the city supports
