Extreme Heat in Merida

Sunday April 2, 40.3 degrees Celsius were recorded at 3 pm. The strong influence and permanence of the high pressure or anticyclonic system on the Yucatan Peninsula has driven very hot to extremely hot temperatures in the region, conditions that will continue to present during the following days.

As for the minimum, for this Tuesday and Wednesday are forecast temperatures of 23.0 to 27.0 degrees Celsius for the states of Yucatan and Campeche, as well as 24.0 to 28.0 degrees in Quintana Roo.

Likewise, although very hot values would be present, predictions call for afternoon showers during the following days by the entrance of tropical maritime air from the Caribbean Sea, which would be in association with the establishment of a trough over the region .

It is recommended to the population to take the necessary precautions to avoid heat stroke.

On the other hand, it is expected that during the following days winds of southeastern component of 20 to 30 kilometers per hour will appear with probable rains in the afternoons.
