Three people shot, a corpse left in the street and a brutal robbery at a pawnshop.

CANCUN — After a violent weekend in which seven people were wounded and another two deaths as a result of the increase of shootings in the city, on Monday July 31 three more people were shot in the 259 region, and police reported the discovery of a corpse at the colony Alfredo V. Bonfil and a brutal robbery of a pawnshop in the 215 region.

The Cancun Police Department reported that at 10pm Sunday July 30, two women and one man were shot at the Villas Otoch Paraíso development.

The victims were identified as Nidia A. J., 34 years old; Isaura A. C., 23 years old, and Daniel U.M., 20 years old.

According to information from the General Attorney’s Office, there were found 20 bullet impacts in the house where the victims were attacked. The bullets came from a long barreled weapon, caliber 2.23 mm.

The authorities began the investigations with the charges of major injuries for the three victims.

Meanwhile, on Monday July 31 a corpse was discovered on one street of the colony Alfredo V. Bonfil.

The victim had many injuries in his whole face, he was wearing a black T-shirt and a grey short, and in addition he has several tattoos, one of them a bulldog with the inscription “Cuidado con el Perro” (be aware of the dog), another one was a “R” letter, and one a sun on his back.

The authorities haven’t found yet the causes of death.

At the same time in the 215 region there was happening a robbery in a pawnshop where the thieves took a jewels package and the personal effects of the employees. There’s no information about the value of the jewels and objects stolen.

In a non related story according to local media, in Chetumal the capital of the Quintana Roo State, elements of the ministerial police department have captured two people accused of aggravated robbery.  The State Attorney Office identified the criminals as M. M. M. and D. A. P. M. of 21 years old each.
