A crew of 20 electricians is working in Progreso…

PROGRESO — A squad of 20 electricians from the company Multiobras de Yucatán were mobilized recently to place posts, lay cables and install new electrical connections on 82nd Street, from 33rd to the exit from the city.

The works are part of the improvement of the electrical network along that artery used by heavy trucks to leave the port with cargo. The street is also used to transfer large equipment for companies that operate in other towns, such as the plant of the Yucatecan Brewery.

This week is arriving a shipment of large towers and turbines for the construction of the wind farm that will be installed on land near Dzilam de Bravo; the trucks with the equipment will pass along 82 street towards the Merida-Progreso highway.

Engineer Misael Ciau, from Multiobras, explained that last week work was carried out from 25 to 33 streets, as well as from 33 to 39 streets, when leaving the city.

Seven concrete posts were changed that were in bad condition and 57 new connections were made that were higher for the clear passage of the trailers, that will be used for the transfer of towers and turbines that will be used for the construction of the wind park. The shipment arrives on Friday Sept. 15 aboard a ship coming from China.
