MERIDA — One of the most important fashion retailers in the world, “H & M”, is preparing to open a new store in the Yucatan capital this week.
“The economy of the state prompts them to become increasingly international brands that choose to place one of their establishments in Yucatan, a situation that confirms the commercial capital status of the southeast and which in turn develops direct and indirect sources of employment,” explained Juan José Abraham Daguer, president of the National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism (Canaco).
This type of investment in Yucatan opens the possibility that Yucatan appears in some campaigns of international brand, and with this is put in the sights of more investments.

He affirmed that this type of investments will continue in the state once the new commercial complexes have been completed, such as: The Island, the extension of Plaza Galerías, and The Harbor, in via Montejo.
The Swedish giant will start operating near stores such as Liverpool, Julio or Ábito.
The company will launch a macro store at the Galerias Mérida shopping center September 21, and will be the first H&M in the Yucatan Peninsula.
