MERIDA — With federal resources, Izamal will soon have a “Paseo Verde” (an ecological lineal park, like the one in Merida’s west side), which in its first stage will have a length of 500 meters and will require an investment of $5.3 million pesos.
The Izamal mayor, Warnell May Escobar, explained that the resources will come from the Federation and that the park will have colonial architecture to continue with the style of urban image, of the also called “City of the hills”.
The project’s aim is to give new public places to Izamal families, to develop sports activities and add attractions for visitors.
The park will be built in the San Francisco neighborhood and the work will begin before the end of this year.
The Izamal Mayor also mentioned that now they are only waiting the approval of the budget to start the works.
