MERIDA – From Indiana, United States, José Fraga Salomón recently arrived at Merida International Airport “Manuel Crescencio Rejón” to be recognized as Passenger Number 2 million arriving to city by plane.
After descending from an American Airlines’ jet arriving from Miami, Florida, accompanied by his wife and daughter, José was welcomed by Yucatan Governor Rolando Zapata Bello and directors of the terminal.
Then Fraga Salomón signed the Distinguished Visitors Book, in which there also is the signature and message of Aurora Porrúa Ardura, who on December 21, 1999 became the one millionth passenger in arriving to Merida by plane.
Along with the recognition, Fraga and family were awarded two nights in the Merida’s Fiesta Americana Hotel, two more at the Mesón de Marqués hotel in Valladolid and one more night in a double room at the Rinconada del Convento hotel in Izamal, one breakfast and lunch for two people at the Manjar Blanco restaurant in Mérida, one meal for two people at Valladolid’s Zací cenote and one last meal at Zamná restaurant in Izamal.
Also they have won one photographic session for a Yucatan Touristic Magazine, two entrances to the Valladolid X’kekén park and two more entrances for the ecological reserve “El Corchito” at Progreso.
Along with all those things they have access to one SPA session at the Rosas & Xocolate hotel and three thousand frequent traveler miles to use whenever he wants.
The winner said that this is his first time in Merida, and he came here as a wedding guest. He added this was a surprise, and they will definitely come back to the city.
