On Sunday Dec. 10, 17, 24 and 31, self-service stores and beer depots will be allowed to sell alcoholic beverages until 10 pm…
MERIDA – At the request of the merchants of the sector, the National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism (CANACO SERVYTUR) of Merida, managed, as every year, the extension of the schedule for the sale of alcoholic beverages in closed containers for Sundays of the month of December.
Therefore, self-service stores and beer depots will be allowed to sell this type of beverages until 10 pm on Sundays Dec. 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31.
In this regard the president of the CANACO Merida, Juan José Abraham Daguer, remarked that during the month of December, this product presents a rise in consumption due to the end-of-year celebrations that take place in homes and businesses, a situation that favors merchants that supply liquors and services, because at the end of the year traders always have good sales.
Thus, the Secretary of State Health authorized that the five Sundays of December, 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31, the sale of alcoholic beverages in closed containers in the self-service stores and beer depots was extended five hours, and it went from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., he said.
Abraham Daguer pointed out that this provision was made known to the Secretariat of Health of Yucatan, which gives a favorable response to the request of CANACO in accordance with Article 64, Second Paragraph of Decree Number 248 of the Control and Surveillance Regulation. Sanitary of the Establishments that Expend Food and Beverages.
