MÉRIDA, Yucatán.- “As a result of the Cold Front #25, temperatures in Yucatán will decrease to 10 degrees Celsius (50°F) in some parts of the state”, reported the National Water Commission (Conagua) through the Regional Hydrometeorological Center of Merida (CHRM), local agency that depends of the National Meteorological Service (SMN).
According to the forecasts, the cold front over the Gulf of Mexico and the Yucatan Peninsula combined with the rain in the south of the region, will generate conditions of medium cloudy to cloudy skies with probability for intervals of showers in the north of Yucatan, as well as in the south of Campeche and Quintana Roo.
Temperatures will be cold during the early morning in the following two days, mainly in the southern part of Yucatan, reaching minimums of 10° C, with northeasterly winds of 15 to 25 kilometers per hour and gusts of over 45 kilometers per hour in coastal areas.
On February 1st , the entrance of tropical maritime air to the Yucatan Peninsula, will favor conditions from clear to cloudy skies and drizzle in the northeast and east of Yucatan, centre and south of Campeche, and this condition will generate showers in the southern end of Quintana Roo.
