This morning, the report of a fatality was made to the 911 emergency number in the 8.5 kilometer of the hotel zone of Cancun. Preliminary reports indicate that a person fell from a height of 15 floors at one of the Riu Hotels, presumably under the influence of alcohol.
So far, the identity of the deceased has not been revealed by the local authorities.
Agents of the municipal police arrived on site to carry out the corresponding investigations and to close off the area. Experts from the Forensic Medical Service are expected to perform the body lift and conduct the necropsy.
Dead tourist in Plaza Forum
Last November 2016, a tourist of American nationality fell from the third level of Plaza Forum, located at kilometer 8.5 of the hotel zone, losing his life instantly. Around 3 AM of that day, a scene of horror was lived, when the 27 year old tourist, while in a bar in company of others, surprisingly jumped, falling of a height of 16 meters.
A distress call was immediately made to emergency number 911 and elements of the tourist police were presented in the place to corroborate the report and to verify the facts, seeing that the body did not have vital signs.
According to witnesses, the deceased was allegedly intoxicated, walking in his underwear and barefoot at the terrace of the place, he tripped with two women with whom he had a small exchange of words, immediately after, he ran and climbed the rails and after trying to do a spin, fell into the void, sustaining multiple injuries that caused him to die on the spot.
