With the installation of seven locations in Valladolid the National Week of Vaccination Canine and Feline Anti-rabies, applied 2,100 doses, said the nurse Alejandro Che Dzib.

Vaccination posts were installed from 8 in the morning to 1 in the afternoon at the doors of Sanitary Jurisdiction No. 2, in the neighborhood of Candelaria and in the parks of San Juan and Sisal, where people their dogs and cats to “get their shot”.

From 1:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., three modules were installed in the Xlapac colony, the X’Corazón subdivision and in the Santa Lucia park, and at each of these points, at least 300 animals were vaccinated.

Che Dzib commented that so far there is no known case of a canine or feline that has infected a human being with rabies, but the local government must continue with the work of prevention and must not lower its guard.

The nurse explained that there are many families that have pets, but they do not take care of them properly, and most of these animals are not vaccinated, which is a lack of responsibility, since having a dog or cat at home is like having another member of the family that requires attention, especially in the medical attention.

“Animals cannot speak up, to say what is wrong with them, so it is important that we take of them properly,” said Che Dzib.
