“Burglary is one of the most frequently mentioned crimes by the Yucatecans and the one that more affects the tranquility of our beloved state. The best way to solve it is to assume the task of fighting it using state-of-the-art technology to achieve it”, said Mauricio Vila Dosal.

During a public meeting with residents of Colonia Bojórquez in Mérida, the candidate said that in Yucatán there is no organized crime but citizens frequently suffer from theft of cables, light meters and other “minor belongings”.

In recent years, the Yucatecan capital has decreased by 43% the assault on pedestrians and 29% to businesses, however, the burglary continues to disturb the people across the state of Yucatán.

“The rural communities of Yucatán are not free of robbery as homes are constantly stripped of transformers, water pumps, hoses and other items. The people of our state deserve more and better security” said Vila Dosal.

The candidate proposed that his government will provide better training to the police forces to fight this type of crime, which is the most common in all the 106 municipalities of the state.

“I want our police officers not only to be the best in Mexico, but to become the best in Latin America. That is why I will bring the most renowned instructors in the world, so that they can train our officers and they can be one step ahead of the criminals, “said the representative of the PAN and Movimiento Ciudadano.

Vila Dosal affirmed that surveillance cameras will be placed not only in Mérida, but in the entrance and exit of the 106 municipalities to provide protection.

“My job is to make every Yucatecan feel  and secure and safe anywhere, anytime. That they can leave their homes without having to worry about being robbed. We are not going to wait for something to happen, we will act and we will be sharp and frontal with any situation that threatens the tranquility of our people ” Vila Dosal concluded.
