The most recent report of the Semáforo Delictivo organization , indicated that Yucatán is still the territory with the lowest rate in crimes such as car-theft, kidnapping, robbery with violence and extortion.
For example, so far this year, only 121 private car thefts have been reported, 23 of four-wheeled cars. In none of the cases was the crime violent, according to the report.
It should be noted that in the rest of the country this type of thefts exceeded 55,000 annual reports, and that in other states, such as Baja California, there were about 5,922 thefts of this type and 541 were carried out with violence, according to updated data of the Criminal Law Advocacy Report of the National Public Security System (Sistema Nacional de Seguridad Pública: SNSP).
