The time of one of the most anticipated traditional dishes for the Yucatecans, the pib or mucbipollo, finally arrived.
The tradition of making the pib for the deceased is more alive than ever, and the residents of the Barrio de San Sebastian, with the support of the City of Mérida and the state government, will hold the Pib Fair “La Feria del Pib” for the second consecutive year.
In a press conference chaired by Henry Cetina, president of the organizing committee of San Sebastián residents, it was reported that the second edition will take place on Sunday October 28 at the San Sebastian park, with the opening ceremony starting at 9 in the morning.
A wide variety of this traditional Yucatecan dish,will be offered to more than 15,000 people that ar expected to attend the event, in order to try the traditional, spelled, veggy, ham and cheese and even seafood Pibs that will be for sale at the Fair.
In addition, they indicated, there will be a special section where it will be explained how to prepare and cook the Pib.
Invited municipalities such as Valladolid and Ticul, will be present at the Fair, the latter will be offering shoes.
The presentation event was attended by representatives of the City of Mérida and the State Government.
