Governor Mauricio Vila brings important Japanese capital to Yucatán

TOKYO, Japan.- The governor of Yucatan, Mauricio Vila Dosal, and Kenso Uchiyama, president of the Uchiyama Manufacturing Corporation (UMC), leader in the manufacture of auto parts, closed the negotiation that will result in an investment project for Yucatan for 65 million US dollars (thousand 326 million pesos, at the current exchange rate), through the construction of a factory of the Japanese firm, which will generate one thousand direct jobs in the short term.

Mauricio Vila and the Japanese director signed a letter of intent, which strengthens the arrival of this company to the state, which will become the first Japanese investment in the automotive sector in all southeast Mexico.

According to the projected, the new plant of Uchiyama Manufacturing Corporation, which will be oriented to the manufacture of static and dynamic seals or packages for vehicle engines, will be located in the new industrial corridor of Hunucmá. Static gaskets are used to prevent fluid leakage, for example, in containers subjected to pressure. These type of dynamics are applied to prevent leaks in a sliding or rotary joint.

The company has as main clients major Japanese car companies such as Nissan, Mazda, Toyota Mitsubishi, Isuzu, Subaru, Suzuki, Hino, Yamaha and Honda, as well as global brands such as General Motors and Ford, among other companies related to the automotive industry. Also, they create static seals for the motor of high-end vehicles of the Lexus brand, that belongs to Toyota, with important presence in the United States.
