A 9.6% increase in passenger traffic was recorded at the Cancun International Airport last October and an accumulated 6.9 percent from January to October, according to ASUR.
When issuing its October bulletin, the company that operates 9 airports in the country, including those of Cancún and Cozumel, as well as two abroad, Colombia and San Juan, Puerto Rico; reported that the total number of passengers for the period of October 2018 in its different air terminals increased by 17.5 percent compared to October 2017, in Mexico the increase was 10.1 percent, 33.9 percent in Puerto Rico and 29.7 percent in Colombia.
As for the Cancun International Airport, the figures released by ASUR indicate that during the past month they mobilized a total of 736,369 domestic passengers, this is 17.3 percent more than the same month in 2017; the total from January to October in 2018 was 7,262,254, this is 12.3 percent more than the same period last year.
With regard to international traffic, last October the airport in Cancun mobilized 1,012,613 passengers, 4.6 percent higher than in the same month of 2017; and the total of international passengers from January to October was 13,676,015, this is 4.2 percent more than the same period in 2017.
The total of passengers mobilized (national and international), in the air terminal of Cancun last October was 1,748,980, which represents 9.6% more than the same month in 2017; finally the total number of passengers from January to October this year amounts to 20,938,269, a number that represents 6.9% more than the same period last year.
