A couple of weeks after the Festival de las Animas 2018 took place, Yucatán continues with its unique cultural offer, that positions the state as a tourist attraction and this time the state is shaping up to become the venue of the first edition of the International Trova Festival, which will take place from December 14 to 16.

“We could not omit a genre that is iconic for Yucatan, that is intimately linked to our history. We seek to strengthen and institutionalize this festival that year by year. An event that will bring together top-level talent from different countries,” said the Secretary of Tourism Development of Yucatan, Michelle Fridman Hirsch, at a press conference.

Izamal and Mérida will host more than 80 local artists from Uruguay, Spain, Cuba, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico, among which stand out Armando Manzanero, Concha Buika, Jarabe de Palo, Jorge Drexler, Gilberto Gil, Rosana, Fernando Delgadillo , Frank Delgado, Carlos Varela, Alejandro Filio and Silvana Estrada, just to name a few.

The activities scheduled for this first edition will take place at the Palacio de Música, the Peón Contreras Theater, the new Plaza de la Trova on Calle 60 and at the Historic Center of Izamal, where they expect to receive more than 45,000 attendees.
