ISLA MUJERES (Infoqroo) .- On Wednesday Jan. 9, an American citizen was evicted from the “CARNIVAL TRIUMPH” cruiser due to a possible case of advanced appendicitis.

This situation occurred when the Command and Control Room of the Fifth Naval Region received an emergency call, requesting the support for a medical evacuation of a passenger from the “CARNIVAL TRIUMPH” cruise ship.

In view of this emergency, the departure of a MLB-type rescue boat with Naval personnel on board and a specialized rescue team was ordered.

After the operation, the patient was transferred to the Advanced Naval Station of Puerto Juarez, Quintana Roo.
There, after coordination, a private service ambulance moved the American tourist to a local hospital in Isla Mujeres.
