The Tourist Business Council of Yucatan anticipated that important investment is coming to Mérida, Chichén Itzá and Valladolid, places where new hotel developments will be built.

Jaime Solis Garza, president of the Tourism Business Council of Yucatan (Cetur), said that the arrival of an important group of Mexican investors that will allocate some 800 million pesos (20 million USD) in the construction of three new hotels has been confirmed.

According to the business leader, investment will come not only to Mérida, but also to Chichén Itzá and Valladolid, sites where these important developments would be located.

Solís Garza also referred to the importance in the tourism sector of the permanence of factors such as security, as it is one of the main incentives that stimulate the arrival of investments and tourists.

“Tourism is an activity especially susceptible to any action that causes insecurity and fear. We currently have a destination that enjoys high prestige in many aspects, of which safety stands out, this is largely due to the success of the strategies implemented in this sector, “he concluded.
