“Events like the Gastroonomic fair, the exhibition in honor of the Virgen de la Candelaria and the upcoming anniversary of the city, serve as an incentive for the arrival of larger numbers of domestic and foreign tourists to Valladolid, as well as growth in the hotel continuous occupation”, said the municipal president, Enrique Ayora Sosa.
Interviewed at the Government Palace after the “Signature ceremony of the Global Compact Group Mayors for Climate and Energy,” the offficial said that they have been consistent when providing tourist services throughout the year.
The mayor declared that the local community maintains close communication with the Secretary of Tourism (Sefotur) and the Patrur Cultur, in rder to promote the area as an important and unique destination in the State, and the whole Peninsula.
“We are looking for what is necessary for Valladolid to shine with its own light, we continue to have a sustained growth of 30 percent in the hotel industry and that means that visitors are staying and spending the night in the destination,” he said.
He noted that they have events such as the next traditional fair that will begin on May 25, in addition to the “Panucho Festival” on May and the anniversary of the city in June.
