Mérida man sentenced to 12 years in prison for robbery and rape

In a trial that took place on Tuesday March 12, C.M.A.M. was sentenced to 12 years in prison, charged with the crimes of qualified robbery committed with violence, double rape and theft of a motor vehicle.

According to the police report, at gunpoint, the subject sexually abused of two women in the parking lot of a restaurant located in Colonia Gonzalo Guerrero, then stole their vehicle and personal belongings.

The subject confessed before the control judge, Elsy del Carmen Villanueva Segura, to have committed the crimes of which he is accused. The judge sentenced him to 12 years in prison, and also imposed a fine of 333 days.

He will be forced to pay for the repair of the victims’ physical, moral and/or psychological damage, and once he has served his sentence, he will be forbidden to approach the victims and their homes.
