Muslim congresswoman criticized by Trump receives a death threat.
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – U.S. Attorney James P. Kennedy, Jr. announced that federal agents arrested a man on Friday who allegedly warned that he would kill legislator Ilhan Omar, who has been the target of Islamophobic attacks. The president mocked her at an event with Jewish Republican legislators on Saturday, as reported by multiple media outlets.

I’ll put a bullet in her f… skull.” This is the death threat received at the Washington DC office of Muslim Congresswoman Ilhan Omar. The suspect’s arrest occurred this Friday and President Donald Trump mockingly attacked the legislator on Saturday.
“A special thank you to Congresswoman Omar of Minnesota,” Trump told members of the Jewish Republican Coalition Saturday at a ballroom at the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. “Oh, I forgot. She doesn’t like Israel. I forgot. I’m so sorry,” the president said sarcastically.
Omar, who was elected in November and is one of the first two Muslim women to arrive in the House of Representatives, has openly criticized Trump’s policy toward Israel, including the transfer of the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem and the recent decision to recognize Israeli control over the Golan Heights region (several countries consider it an illegal annexation).
She calls these actions “obsessive” and believes that protesting them is a “matter of morality”.
“My Lord, forgive my people for doing it without knowing,” the legislator wrote in her Twitter account referring to Trump’s mockery, which coincides with the revelation that she was threatened with death.

New York authorities reported Friday on the arrest of Patrick W. Carlineo Jr., 55, a neighbor of Addison, on suspicion of having called Omar’s DC office warning that he would kill her by shooting her in the head. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) took the case and took 16 days to place him in custody. The defendant has his next court hearing on April 10.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Western District of New York, Carlineo spoke on the phone with an employee of the congresswoman shortly after noon on March 21. Before hanging up, he described Omar as “a terrorist” and warned: “I will put a bullet in her fucking skull”. No further information about the suspect has been released.
The man faces a sentence of up to 10 years in federal prison and a fine of $250,000. USD
