A 32-year-old mother was found dead inside her house, where she made the fatal decision to take her own life by way of hanging.
Agents of the Ministry of Public Security (SSP) were informed of the situation and went to the site, to document the case on the early morning hours of Monday April 15th.
The woman was apparently alone in her house located next to the Progreso – Chicxulub road, not far from the Instituto Tecnológico Superior Progreso roundabout.
The body was found by one of the woman’s children, who immediately reported it to the state police, upon entering the premises and encountering the body of his mother with a rope around her neck.
Personnel of the Forensic Medical Service SEMEFO, arrived on site to pick up the body around 7 AM, and moved it to Mérida for the necropsy of law.
2018 is the year with the highest number of suicides registered in the state of Yucatán, with 230 cases. While, 29 cases have been registered so far in the state during 2019.
