In broad daylight and in one of the busiest areas in the west side of Mérida, an armed robbery was committed in a convenience store located on the corner of Avenida 1A with Calle 38A in Pensiones.

Agents of the State Public Security Secretariat (SSP) conducted an intense operation after the report of armed robbery at an Oxxo located in the Pensiones neighborhood, right in front of the Escuela Secundiaria Federal # 5, where the suspect entered the premises as if he was just another customer, when he suddenly took out a firearm and threatened the three employees.

The employees gave him the money from the cash register, and the man fled te scene apparently on foot.

Agents of the State Police arrived at the site and cordoned off the area for the legal proceedings. The police officers immediately implemented a search operation that resulted in the arrest of the suspect just hours after he committed the robbery.

Once again, it is evident that the police in the state of Yucatan act promptly and efficiently, and crime does not go unpunished as it happens in other states of the country.
