The Municipal Police of Tulum confirmed that personnel from Casa Cenote, located on the Cancun-Tulum road Km 246, Tankah, around seven o’clock on Tuesday July 23, requested support as they heard cries for help coming from the sea.

The police officers immediately went to the place where they met with the manager to find out what was happening.

This person said that some guests heard screams coming from the sea, and lights were seen as signs of help, so they immediately asked for support from Civil Protection, Firefighters and Municipal Police.

The search operation continued until the early morning hours of Wednesday July 24, in coordination with the Akumal boatmen and local authorities to try to locate the missing couple, but unfortunately the authorities were not able to find the two missing tourists who went out to sea in a kayak since Tuesday.
