“On Friday, August 23rd, the City Council closed three restaurants, for a total 36 places in the Historic Center that have been closed due to excessive noise, in a permanent operation that will continue in order to make sure that the regulations against noise pollution are respected”, said Mayor Renán Barrera Concha.
“We are averaging between four and six closures a week. We want businesses to carry out their daily activities, but in accordance to the new regulations against noise pollution”, the mayor continued.
“All these businesses that we are closing down, are being fined. And if any business is closed more than two times, then we proceed to the final closing of the establshment”, said Renán Barrera.
Mayor Renán Barrera Concha concluded: “This is a permanent operation, we will not stop doing it, more and more bars and night clubs are opening in the downtown area, businessmen and entrepreneurs are free to open new places and offer their services, as long as they adapt to the new regulations”.
