Richest man in Mexico Carlos Slim Helú, declared he supports and backs up the projects promoted by the government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador, he even said that it is “inconsequential” whether economic growth is registered or not, since this will be seen when the public investment starts.
During the president’s daily morning conference of Tuesday Aug. 27, Slim Helú stressed that the government’s investment in projects such as the Dos Bocas Refinery and the Maya Train will generate economic activity and employment.
“We’re just missing the massive investment that is the one that generates economic activity and employment, but it will be made on time”, Slim said during the “mañanera” press conference.
Regarding the construction of the Texcoco airport – in which Slim was an investor – and abandoning the Santa Lucia project, the businessman said: “That will be decided in the future, I can’t say anything about it right now, but it is only one of 1,600 projects of this government infrastructure. ”
