With data adjusted for seasonality, there was a decrease of 0.6 points in consumer confidence over the previous month, in its fifth consecutive monthly decline, reported INEGI.
MEXICO (Times Media Mexico/INEGI) In July 2019, the Consumer Confidence Indicator (CCI) stood at 43 points, a level that meant a decrease of 0.6 points over the previous month, with seasonality, in its fifth consecutive monthly decline.
Monthly reductions were observed with seasonally adjusted figures in the five components according to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) developed jointly with the Bank of Mexico,
In seasonally adjusted terms, in the seventh month of 2019 the component corresponding to the opinion on the economic situation of household members at the present time compared to the one they had 12 months ago decreased 0.6 points compared to the level reached the previous month.
The item that evaluates the expectation on the economic situation of household members within 12 months compared to that recorded at present showed a monthly decrease of 0.1 points.
The variable that measures the perception of consumers about the economic situation of the country today compared to the one that prevailed 12 months ago decreased 0.5 points from the level reported in June.
The indicator that captures the expectations on the economic condition of the country expected within a year with respect to the current situation presented a monthly decline of 0.8 points.
Finally, the component relating to the opinion on the current possibilities for household members to make purchases of durable goods, such as furniture, television, washing machine and other household appliances, compared to a year ago, reported a monthly dropped 0.9 points from the previous month.

The INEGI reported that in seasonally adjusted terms, in the seventh month of 2019 the ICC remained unchanged in its annual comparison, after 23 months with annual rate growth.
It noted that last July the ICC recorded annual rises in seasonally adjusted in three of its five components.
The agency detailed that in July this year the component on the current economic situation of household members compared to the one they had 12 months ago increased 1.6 points in their annual comparison.
In turn, the indicator that measures the expectation about the expected economic situation of household members within 12 months, with respect to the current decreased 0.5 points in July compared to the same month last year.
While on the economic situation of the country today, compared to 12 months ago rose 5.1 points over July 2018, with seasonally adjusted figures.
The indicator that measures the country’s economic situation expected within 12 months, with respect to the current, seasonally adjusted data, in July this year fell 5.4 points in its annual comparison.
For its part, the component on the current possibilities of household members compared with those of a year ago, to make purchases of furniture, television, washing machine, other household appliances, among others, fell 0.6 points annually in July this year compared to the same month of 2018.
