Celestún, Yucatán, Aug. 30th, 2019.-  Three fishermen have been reported missing at sea for six days now.

Two of them from the town of Kinchil, Yucatán. Their names are Mario Chan Tzuc (aka “Cheech“), 37; Miguel Ángel Sabido Cortéz (aka “Papo“), 43; and his brother Abraham Sabido Cortes, 30 (aka “Chuckie“), the latter from the port of Celestún.

The three fishermen went out to sea one week ago, on Friday August 23, aboard the boat “Emmanuel 3” and they were supposed to return no later than Monday August 26 in the afternoon.

They were last seen by other seamen 40 nautical miles off the west coast of Celestún.

It is presumed that the boat’s engine may have been the cause of the wreck.

Other fellow fishermen, local authorities and an “Interceptor” vessel of the Mexican Navy (Semar) have been searching the three men at high sea, but without success so far.
