According to figures issued by the Ministry of Public Security of the State, every 28 hours a person dies in Yucatan due to road accidents. It is increasingly common to observe accidents throughout Merida and other parts of the state, in which public transport vehicles, cars, motorcycles, bicycles and pedestrians are involved.
But definitely, a Ferrari involved in a car accident in the Yucatecan capital, is something that you don’t see everyday.
On Wednesday September 4th, in Mérida’s Altabrisa subdivision, a red Ferrari luxury Italian sports car was quite damaged after hitting a white Madza SUV.
The Mazda was driven by a lady on 22nd Street, and was struck from the side by the aforementioned sports car that was apparently speeding on 21st Street, and did not make a halt on the stop sign.
The Mazda was damaged, but not as severely as the Ferrari, which suffered damages on the hood and the car’s front, that will surely amount to several hundred thousand pesos.
Both drivers resulted unharmed. The owner of the Ferrari contacted a representative, who stayed at the site of the incident to respond for the damages, while he left the scene.
Shortly after, the insurerance company agents arrived, along with two cranes that removed the vehicles from the place.
