Singer Annie Lennox, known as the Eurythmics lead vocalist, was recognized for her work against the HIV pandemic in South Africa. Other musicians whose charitable activities have been honored include Cat Stevens and Bob Geldof, organizers of the “Live Aid” and “Live8” concerts.
