A subsidiary of the Carso Group, owned by billionaire Carlos Slim, obtained a contract from Petróleos Mexicanos for the engineering and construction of marine infrastructure.
According to the Reuters news agency, the project will be in an area of the Gulf of Mexico near the state of Campeche.
The project includes installing two marine units called MALOOB-E and MALOOB-I.
The contract awarded by Pemex is for a total amount of 2.4 billion pesos (more than 191.7 million US dollars), according to comments by the tycoon’s firm.
The total investment of Operadora Cicsa adds up to 1.4 billion pesos (about 69.8 million US dollars), according to a statement to the stock exchange.
