On Thursday, November 14th, agents of the Ministry of Public Security (SSP), managed to arrest an alleged drug pusher (narcomenudista), after a dangerous car chase on Mérida’s North Periférico.
The agents of the SSP pursued the alleged criminal who was driving a Hyundai vehicle, type Grand I-10, at high speed on Mérida’s North Periférico.
The driver of the compact vehicle took the exit to Santa Gertrudis Copó, continued on 7-B Street and, upon reaching the intersection with 14th Street, lost control of the car, passed over a mound of stones, knocked down a palm tree and ended up crashing into a wall.
The driver quickly descended from the vehicle, and threw a black backpack into a property and tried to flee the scene by foot.
State Security Secretariat agents surrounded the area and managed to catch the fugitive.
Police officers found several kilos of Marijuana inside the black bag that he threw into the property.
