French businessman Frédéric Michel released after kidnapping in Central Mexico

After being kidnapped this Sunday Nov. 24, on Monday around 1:00 pm, Mexican actor Alejandro Sandí and French businessman Frédéric Michel were released, this was reported by the Secretariat of Citizen Security and Protection (Secretaría de Seguridad y Protección Ciudadana).

The victims, who had been kidnapped by an armed group near the Nevado de Toluca National Park, were released in good health and stable conditions.

According to the French Foreign Ministry, investigations around the case are already being carried out with the hostages interrogation to begin with.

The investigation opened by the court of Grand Instance in Paris, France will continue with the victims’ testimonies.

In fact, French authorities pointed out that investigators from the Central Office Against Violence are already working on the case.

The French police mobilization to locate one of his countrymen, who had been reported kidnapped as soon as they were informed of the situation.

The French Embassy in Mexico also reported that Frédéric Michel, commercial director of a company, had been living in the country for several years with his wife.

Finally, according to French media, the objective of the kidnappers was not the businessman but the Mexican actor Alejandro Sandí.

 

According to the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), through the General Coordination to Combat the Kidnapping of the Prosecutor of the State of Mexico, both the French citizen and the Mexican actor were rescued by Mexican police forces.

 

Meanwhile, the French Embassy celebrated the release of his abducted compatriot and his Mexican friend.
