The Orchestra and Three Singers Celebrate “The Pueblito Magico”
IZAMAL, YUCATAN (Times Media Mexico).- Izamaleños and tourists dared to defy the “heladez” last Wednesday in Park of “Los Remedios” to enjoy the concert that the Yukalpetén Orchestra dedicated to Izamal for its 178 years of being declared a city.
The musical evenings carried out to celebrate the 178 years of the city are only the beginning of the festivities, as on December 8th, the day of the “Virgen de la Concepción” will be commemorated.
The orchestra performed songs by Yucatecan composers.
Furthermore, Emma Alcocer, Jesús Armando and the native Izamaleña, Concepción Garma delighted the audience with several melodies.
At night a large anniversary cake, decorated with the color of Izamal, the Yellow City, was shared among the public.
The municipal authorities gave the Yukalpetén Typical Orchestra a recognition for being part of the city’s anniversary celebrations.
Friday, December 6th, at 5 p.m. there will be a “Charlotada“. (Mexican equivalent of a a comedic, rodeo clown type of show)
On Saturday December 7th, at 11 p.m. in the convent, a serenade will be offer to the Virgin, featuring Alejandra Ávalos; then, tropical musician from Tabasco “Chico Che Chico” will perform, and to wrap up the evening, Rolly “el Astro Digital“, will play in front of the Municipal Palace.
On Sunday December 8th, a bullfight will close the celebration at 4:30 p.m.
