The mayor of Valladolid, a municipality in the eastern part of Yucatan, reduced the salaries of the officials, and used the savings to buy structures for playgrounds for the benefit of hundreds of children.
The dream of many local children to have slides and rides in the parks of the community of Xcohuó and Yaax-hal, came true when the mayor of Valladolid decided to reduce the salaries of the officials.
With smiles, the children of the community ran to enjoy the recreational space where they will spend hours of fun, this was achieved with an investment of 22 thousand pesos.
It should be noted that the playgrounds mentioned, have a multifunctional roofed surface, a slide, a handrail and a swings area that will provide hours of healthy recreation to local children.
The happiness of these children has been so great that in Xcohuó the kids received the mayor, Enrique Ayora, with a welcome ceremony and signs of gratitude during the delivery of the new structures.
Yucatan Mayor Cuts Salaries
Thanks to the actions of the officials and the mayor, hundreds of children from both communities fulfilled their dream of having these areas of relaxation and fun, which will create an atmosphere of harmony and fun outdoors.
Taking advantage of the visit, the authorities of Valladolid took the program “Ayuntamiento cerca de ti“, during which requests were attended and orthopedic sticks were given to senior citizens as part of the program.
