Renowned Yucatan artistic promoter, Sergio Serrano, was found dead inside a property in the north of Merida.

MÉRIDA Yucatán – The Attorney General’s Office (FGE) confirmed in the early morning that the body found was Sergio Serrano Navarro, a well-known music and entertainment businessman who died as a result of head trauma.

The finding was made by a friend of the businessman who came looking for him at his home in the Francisco de Montejo neighborhood. The friend found the dead body and inmediatelly informed the authorities.

Elements of the Ministry of Public Security (SSP) arrived at the scene, and upon entering they encountered a crime scene and notified the Forensic Medical Service to carry out the necessary diligences.

What happened?
Apparently a long night’s party ended tragically for Mr. Serrano. Sources at the Fiscalía disclosed to The Yucatan Times, that Mr. Serrano Navarro, a well-known businessman in music and entertainment, arrived to the house with two young men. After drinking, apparently things got out of hand, they attacked him and escaped.

The news of the death of the music and entertainment promoter, whose artistic name was “Sergio Serranova”, caused commotion among users of social networks because due to his work he was present at events such as the Oscar and Grammy awards.

He was the founder of Glittergroove Entertainment Agency with the company’s headquarters in Miami, Florida. However, he brought multiple different shows to Mérida and other parts of Mexico.

Sergio Serrano was a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and Billboard Latin America.

Together with his business parter, Ruben Patterson, he brought different shows to Mérida, participated in the last Oscar awards ceremony and according to information he wrote in his social networks, he had agreed to work in the 2020 Grammy Awards.
