Yucatan.- The Mayor of Tizimín, Pedro Couoh Suaste, declared that they are promoting a project to detonate the port of El Cuyo for tourism and for which there are currently 15 boutique-type hotels under construction, as well as restaurants and that in recent months the arrival of mainly international tourism has increased.

“El Cuyo is the only port we have and we need to adapt to receive all the investments that are coming, they are tourist developments, they are hotels, restaurants, the entire tourist sector,” he said.

There are 15 hotels under construction, he continued, we are above all taking care to preserve nature and the environment, that is why it is so important to adapt our services.

“The hotels are boutique type, they are small hotels, less than three stories high, each hotel has an average of ten rooms, there is a lot of interest in investing in El Cuyo,” he said.

Pedro Couoh added that with the aforementioned investments they are generating a tourism product for the entity. 

“It is a new tourism product, it is an international destination, there is an incredible number of tourists from other countries who are participating in El Cuyo, there is a lot of interest in kitesurfing; it is practiced there because there are very good winds, some paradisiacal beaches that tourists enjoy a lot ”.
