Mérida, Yucatán, (December 27, 2021).- On the occasion of Christmas, this morning, at the facilities of the Center for Social Reintegration (Cereso) in Mérida, the traditional Mass was held, which was celebrated by the Archbishop of Yucatán, Gustavo Rodríguez Vega, complying with all sanitary measures.
Before prison authorities, headed by the director of the compound, Francisco Javier Brito Herrera, the prelate offered a message of hope, reconciliation, and reflection, with the invitation to live this special time of gratitude, with the presence of God, in peace and harmony.
In the evening, those deprived of their liberty will receive a special dinner, this year consisting of chicken with spaghetti and pickled vegetables, soft drink, and ham and cheese puffs.
Their effective social reintegration, through integration and healthy coexistence, is a priority of Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal, for which, in compliance with his instruction, the rhythm of sports, educational and cultural activities has been resumed, following health protocols.
