Mérida City Council delivers computers committed to the development of young students

Mérida, Yucatán, (December 15, 2021) .- In compliance with one of the lines of action of the Municipal Development Plan to encourage all children and young people of Mérida to continue with their studies, Mayor Renán Barrera Concha, made delivery of about a hundred pieces of technological equipment from the “Computer At Home” program.

This municipal program is aimed at students of basic, secondary, and higher educational levels, with the granting of a subsidy and the management of a loan for the acquisition of a computer, a tool that today is essential for the students, so they continue with their studies and carry out their schoolwork.

Before municipal officials, students, mothers, and fathers, who gathered in the multipurpose field of the Integral Development Center “San José Tecoh”, the Councilor pointed out that with concrete and tangible actions, the City Council takes care of the young people of school age and sympathizes with parents who, in the face of adversity, want their children to continue studying, in order to become women and men committed to their city and country.

This program is in addition to programs such as EXANI Courses I and II for the admission exam at the upper and secondary level that have benefited about 2,150 students, as well as the “Reinforce” program in disciplines such as Spanish, mathematics, English, and science that has benefited 6,870 students.
