Mérida, Yucatán, (December 20, 2021).- The president of the Employers’ Confederation of the Mexican Republic (Coparmex) in Mérida, Fernando Ponce Díaz, said that the removal of several restrictions related to the pandemic has been one of the main incentives to accelerate the recovery of the economy by the end of 2021.
It has been said that the economic close of this year will be much better than last year, but it will not be like two years ago. The recovery is taking place, the jobs are also taking place, but it is a bit slow.
The owners and managers of the bars say they are happy that at least they are seeing their tables occupied, despite the fact that they are still working at 75 percent of the total capacity and they claim to comply with the standards established by the Ministry of Health (SSY) due to the pandemic, but being able to close at 2:00 a.m. ensures at least a higher consumption.
It should be remembered that after several months closed on September 20, the state authorities allowed them to return to activity.
“We are following the protocols dictated by the SSY, the 75 percent capacity, the use of antibacterial gel, temperature checks of the guests and employees, as well as the QR menus,” said Mauricio Jiménez Dzul, manager of Azúcar Moreno, recently bar inaugurated on the top floor of a commercial plaza in the Northeast of the city.
He said that it is very satisfying for him and for most of the people in his charge, that this month people are returning to nights of partying and fun, which indicates that those who have always worked in those turns were hit hard by the pandemic , and that December is being very encouraging to them.
He indicated that the nights are very busy, as people want to celebrate again with friends, after last year they did not have the usual Christmas parties.
