Small hotels in Playa del Carmen complain of excessive noise and that they do not respect closing hours, affecting their guests, so they ask for better regulation by the municipal authorities
Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, (December 16, 2021).- Tourists and citizens who live near the center, say that during the last days the noise generated by some nightclubs is too high, since they remain open until after seven in the morning, without the authorities doing something about it.
Fabiola Vélez López, President of the Association of Small Hotels in the Center of Playa del Carmen, assured that in a meeting with the heads of the Municipal Tourism Secretariat and the Municipal Tourist Police, they will seek their support, although it not only depends on those secretariats, but some others such as Inspection and Environment.
She added that they are asking that schedules and decibels be respected, since they, like small hotels, Civil Protection and other agencies require them to have adequate accommodation centers, so they ask that, as well as them, bars and restaurants be regulated to that your guests are not affected.
Vélez López reported that as of the second week of October they have maintained a more stable occupation than in previous months, in addition to registering future reservations, since it was a dynamic that had changed with the pandemic, which had affected them because they could not have a planning.
“Now we have reservations for Christmas, New Year’s Eve, January and until the first days of February, especially for international tourism, the national travels all year but it is not customary to book well in advance,” she assured.
Despite omicron, the new variant of COVID-19, said that they have not had any cancellation for the moment, they are also already recovering in terms of rates, since for them to have future reservations and with a higher rate, it is a good news.
