Valladolid, Yucatan, (December 16, 2021).- The head of the Ministry of Economic Development and Labor (Sefoet), Ernesto Herrera Novelo, met with the Association of Restaurants of Valladolid (Arvay), to present the strategies for attracting investment and internationalization of Yucatecan products.
He also stated that the state has three key elements to do business with the Saudi Arabian market in respect for culture, lifestyle and religion; high-quality products, and piece rates, which open opportunities for export, but also for attracting visitors.
It should be remembered that last November, within the framework of the Dubai Universal Exposition 2020, Yucatán participated in a trade mission led by governor Mauricio Vila Dosal, together with businessmen and chamber leaders, representing different sectors of the local economy, as well as some holders of important production firms.
Before Valladolid businessmen, Herrera Novelo stressed that there is an open work agenda with authorities, companies, and institutions in Spain, as is the case of the Embassy of Mexico in that country, for which business opportunities are coming. Regarding the state representation office in Madrid, he pointed out that “it will depend on the Sefoet, we already have the indication and we have already started the work.”
He also shared that there are local companies that are already arriving in Spain, Portugal, France, and the United Arab Emirates, among other points, and soon, there will be more. “The entrance door was Madrid, not only because of the ease we have to get there, in a single flight via Cancun, but also because of the language, but what we are looking for is not only Spain, but all the member countries of the European Economic Community; that is the real objective and, fortunately, Yucatán is becoming more and more known in Europe”, he added.
During the meeting, the representatives of the Valladolid restaurant industry expressed their concerns, and endorsed their commitment to the development of the municipality and the entity; In this sense, the president of Arvay, Jordy Abraham Martínez, expressed the interest of the sector in knowing the economic panorama and the strategies of the Executive, to continue adding efforts.
Finally, the head of the Sefoet recognized the organized work carried out by the businessmen of this demarcation, in coordination with the authorities, for which it is increasingly known in other parts of the world, among which Europe of the East, Ukraine and Russia. “I see that it is the moment of Yucatan, but it is also the moment of Valladolid, and very short term,” he concluded.
