Mayor Renan Barrera contracted Covid-19 days after his wife tested positive during the Merida Fest celebrations

(MERIDA, YUC.- TYT), January 24, 2022.- Renán Barrera Concha, mayor of Mérida, calls on citizens to take care of themselves and continue with sanitary measures, after becoming infected with the omicron variant.

“After two years of being without an uninterrupted day of work, well, until the omicron arrived, it hit us personally, the family too, fortunately we are now 100 percent.”

He highlighted the increase in infections in recent days, however he said that fortunately hospitalizations and the number of deaths are not increassing.
