Cold Front “Mukul” the coldest of the season will hit Yucatan on Sunday, Jan. 16th

MÉRIDA, Yucatan, (January 14, 2022).- On Friday, January 14th, Yucatan had a cool sunrise and some rains due to the mass of cold air that drives cold front 21 towards the Caribbean Sea.

This frontal system will cover a large part of the Yucatan Peninsula, causing partially cloudy skies with probability for drizzles and intervals of rain in the north and northeast of Yucatan.

Minimum temperatures at sunrise

For Yucatan, minimum temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees are forecast at dawn this Friday, especially in the central and southern regions of the state.

In the rest of the region the minimum would be from 10 to 15 degrees, and in Mérida from 11 to 13.

As for the maximum, they will hardly reach 30 degrees according to meteorologist Juan Antonio Palma Solís.

Another cold front on Sunday

Also, there will be rains from this Sunday due to the arrival of the cold front number 22 “Mukul”, and rainfall will increase with storms and scattered showers.

Also, due to this same front, strong winds are expected from early Sunday morning, which could be 60 to 70 kilometers per hour and waves close to four meters high.
