Yucatan receives new shipment of anti-Covid-19 vaccines

The state agency explained that, in the following days, the municipalities, dates and modules that will be enabled for the administration of these doses will be announced, for which, the population is invited to be aware of the Information to be provided through official channels.

(MERIDA, YUC. – SSY).- This Friday, January 28th, more vaccines against the coronavirus (Covid-19) continue to arrive in Yucatan and on this occasion a new shipment arrived in the state with 200,000 doses from the pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca, which will be used for the reinforcement application to people from 40 to 59 years old, in municipalities in the interior of the state that will be announced soon, reported the Ministry of Health (SSY).

At the instruction of Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal, the director of Prevention and Health Protection of the SSY, Carlos Isaac Hernández Fuentes, went to the Mérida International Airport “Manuel Crescencio Rejón”, to supervise the arrival of this new shipment, which arrived at aboard a Mexican Air Force Boeing 737-200 aircraft, license plate 3520, from Mexico City, which touched down on state territory at 1:45 p.m.

Accompanied by the state coordinator for Covid-19 Vaccination, Corvette Captain Carlos Gómez Montes de Oca, Hernández Fuentes verified the unloading of the batch, by Army personnel, which was placed in an SSY thermoking truck, for later transfer to the vaccine warehouse, from where these drugs will be distributed to the places where they will be applied.

To date, more than 3,661,139 vaccines against Covid-19 have arrived in the state, to which is added the batch of 200,000 that the unit received this afternoon.

It should be reiterated that these vaccines will be applied to the population that, previously, has been registered and selected, through the platforms of the government of the Republic, for which the Federation is in charge of the planning and protocols of this strategy, while that the state will be supporting with these tasks.

At the arrival of the new batch, the person in charge of Vaccination of the SSY, Alejandro Díaz Sánchez, the commander of the 11 Infantry Battalion, Colonel Gustavo Caratachea Esparza and the General of the Aviator Pilot Group José de Jesús Morán Gutiérrez, commander of the BAM were also present.
