With more 130 family events, Backstage Shows & Entertainment, the City Council of Umán presented the first edition of the Capital City of Industries Expo Fair to be held from Thursday, April 21 to May 1, at the XXI Century Sports Unit (aka Multifunctional).
At a press conference, held in the auditorium of the Municipal Palace, the general director of Backstage Shows & Entertainment, Humberto Rodríguez Lugo, pointed out that more than 130 events will be held in this fair, all of them are free admission and apt for the whole family.
“It is a free event. We will have several surprises for Umanenses and visitors from other municipalities”, said the businessman, who has been known for organizing excellent events at national and international levels.
Some activities on the schedule include the program “Let’s dance!”, from TeleYucatán, which will be recorded on Saturday, April 23rd; Junior Klan popular dance, on Saturday, April 30; a wrestling show on May 1; the Pope Pope Circus, as well as talents from the House of Culture of Umán.
Other attractions available are mechanical games, the largest Ferris wheel in the Southeast, and a tour of Yucatan through the 360° selfie.
Rodríguez Lugo thanked the municipal president Gaspar Ventura Cisneros Polanco for the support to carry out an event with the highest quality and safety standards.
In his intervention, the mayor highlighted the credibility of the firm Backstage Shows & Entertainment in organizing the best events in the Yucatan Peninsula and the Expo Fair will not be the exception, as it will set a precedent in “the industrial heart of Yucatan”.
“It’s not just any fair,” said the councilman, who decided to move the cultural and economic activities to the month of April, since the party in honor of Umán’s anniversary coincides with the Yucatán Xmatkuil Fair and the Uman residents preferred to move to Mérida.
He stressed that the expo was created with the purpose of celebrating the anniversary of the city and reactivating the local economy since it will include the participation of artisans, entrepreneurs, merchants, and ranchers.
«For November 20, we will celebrate the anniversary of Umán with a traditional Yucatecan festivity. The fair, during my term, will take place in April so that we can consolidate it and become a tradition for the people of Uman with the purpose of activating the economy and continuing to make alliances with the businessmen of the industrial corridor that connects Uman with Merida”, the mayor said.
Cisneros Polanco called on the attendees to use the motorcycle taxi service so that they can also benefit from the economic spill too. These taxis will have special rates during the Expo Fair, and those who charge more can be reported to the Municipal Directorate of Public Transport.
He highlighted that the Expo Fair is organized with high-security standards by the Uman Municipal government along with Backstage Shows & Entertainment.
“We are going with direction and certainty that we can show off this first Expo Fair and, next year, we can have more than a dance, perhaps national or international artists,” said the mayor.
The inauguration will take place on Thursday, April 21st, at 8:45 p.m. with the comedy show by Yucatecan regional comedian Ruperta Pérez Sosa.
